Minimum Number of Students Required Per Class in Order for Class to be Held.
   HUNTER EDUCATION - HALF DAY FIELD COURSE  - $40

Prior to attending the class EACH Student must complete the online part of this course:  ONLINE HUNTERS ED PART 1.
All Students will be REQUIRED to bring the printed hardcopy of their completed online quizzes to be allowed into the Field Course.


Who is required to take Texas Hunter Education?

Every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete a Hunter Education Training Course. Minimum age of certification is 9 years of age.
 

If you were born on or after September 2, 1971 and you are:

  • under 9 years of age, you must be accompanied*.
  • age 9 through 16, you must successfully complete a hunter education course, or you must be accompanied*. 
  • age 17 and over, you must successfully complete a hunter education course; or purchase a "Hunter Education Deferral" and you must be accompanied*.

Please note that some federally controlled areas require all hunters using that site to have hunter education certification. In Texas, this includes Corps of Engineers property and most military reservations. Be sure to check with the specific area prior to going hunting.

ACADEMY RULES:

  1. Absolutely   NO  live ammunition in the classroom
  2. All firearms used in class will be provided by Arlington Gun Academy.
  3. No alcohol or drug use prior to or during entire class time.
  4. No profane language or racial slurs will be tolerated.
  5. Head cover-cap or hat that will cover the head and the area toward the face (such as a baseball cap)
  6. Footwear shall be of a type that the entire foot is covered

  7. 22LR caliber rifles will be used during the shooting portion of the class

  8. Ammunition--Arlington Gun Academy will provide ammunition

  9. Hearing and Eye protection - bring your own if you have it
  10. Wear a shirt with a collar to the range

Arlington Gun Academy reserves the right to refuse to teach any student or participant and/or ask them to leave the classroom at anytime due to a violation of these rules.
